Jonathan Panzo picks the Bluebirds
Cardiff City are delighted to welcome Jonathan Panzo to the Welsh capital.
The central defender joins on loan from Nottingham Forest for the 2023/24 season, subject to clearance.
Panzo played 29 times with Coventry City in the Championship last season, on a temporary deal. The London-born defender came through the Chelsea youth academy, before joining Monaco and later Dijon, where he played alongside City legend Bruno Ecuele Manga. The 22-year-old is an England youth international and U17 World Cup winner.
There was plenty of interest from elsewhere for the defender, but our new number 24 chose the Bluebirds. Speaking for the first time, Panzo said: "I’m buzzing to be here and for it to finally get across the line. I can’t wait to get started.
"I picked Cardiff City because of the Gaffer, the team and I felt like it was an exciting project for sure.
"I want to show the fans what I can do and help the boys shine.”
City boss Erol Bulut added: "I'm pleased that Jonathan has agreed to join. He's going to bring extra stability to our defence.
"He had a very good season with Coventry City last year and already has great experience of this league.
"He's a left-sided centre-back, which gives us something we needed. It's a very good signing for us."
We're excited to add Jonathan to our defensive ranks. Make sure you give a huge City welcome to our ninth summer signing!
