Joel Bagan pens a new City deal
Joel Bagan has extended his stay with the Bluebirds, putting pen to paper on a new three-year contract, which will run until the summer of 2026.
The 21-year-old Academy graduate has made 41 first-team appearances for City, netting three goals, which came in three consecutive Championship fixtures against Millwall, Coventry City and Blackpool.
Bagan also earned First Team experience whilst on loan at Notts County in 2020, where he featured in the National League play-off final against Harrogate Town. He made his first run out for the 2023/24 pre-season in Saturday's victory over Penybont before officially signing his new contract post-match.
The left-back spoke to Cardiff City TV, saying: “I’m really happy to get it over the line. I’ve had a good five years in Cardiff and I’m happy to extend it.
“I’ve loved my time at the Club so far. I’ve come through from the U18s and I’m in the First Team now. I’m playing with boys that I’ve played in the Academy with, so hopefully that can carry on this season.
“I’ve got a lot of people to thank, all the way from the U18s up to the First Team, people who have left and even the players, the senior boys, they’ve helped me out a lot. My aim now is to play as many games as possible.”
