Jack Simpson joins Cardiff City
Cardiff City FC can confirm that Jack Simpson has joined the Club from Rangers for an undisclosed fee, subject to clearance.
The 25-year-old has signed a deal with the Bluebirds which will keep him at Cardiff City Stadium until the summer of 2024.
A defender, Simpson came through the youth ranks with AFC Bournemouth, who he joined at the age of 12. He made his senior debut for the Cherries in October 2017.
In total, Jack made 35 appearances for Bournemouth, including 11 Premier League outings, before moving to UEFA Europa League runners-up Rangers in January 2021.
Capable of playing in a range of defensive roles, he appeared for the Gers on 14 occasions, and now returns to the EFL with the Bluebirds.
Speaking at CCS on Tuesday evening after signing his agreement, Jack said: "I'm very excited to join the Club. I spoke to the manager about what he's trying to do here.
"I'm a ball playing centre half, and hopefully that'll suit the way the team are playing now.
"I'm excited to be here. I want to help the team and play in as many games as possible."
City boss Steve Morison added: "Jack's going to bring balance for us in defence.
"He is a fantastic player, with a beautiful left foot. He is someone who wanted to come and be part of it. Jack's here with a smile on his face, and ready to get to work.
"He's an excellent addition to the group."
