Non League Day 2024

International Break – Bluebirds back Non-League Day 2024

Community
The Sky Bet Championship has taken a two week break as international fixtures are played, meaning that City fans will have to wait until March 29th to see the Bluebirds in action.

However, there are still plenty of matches to see over the international break, including on Saturday, March 23rd – which is the date of the annual Non-League Day.

Always scheduled to coincide with an international break, Non-League Day provides a platform for clubs to promote the importance of affordable volunteer-led community football while giving fans across the country the chance to show support for their local non-league side.

Prostate Cancer UK are this year celebrating 10 years of working with the annual grassroots football event, having began their partnership with Non-League Day back in 2014.

Showing their support for Non-League Day are Perry Ng and Ollie Tanner, two Bluebirds who have plied their trade in non-league. Perry enjoyed a loan spell with Hyde United in 2015, whilst Ollie has featured for the likes of Bromley, Lewes and York City.

Other City stars who featured in non-league earlier in their careers are Jak Alnwick, who played for Gateshead on loan in 2011/12, and Ryan Wintle. The midfielder began his career with Alsager Town before joining Crew Alexandra.

The easiest way to locate your nearest non-league fixture is by using the interactive map at http://www.nonleagueday.co.uk/map.html. Whilst most games on the map are in the South West of England, there is plenty of action taking place in the Cymru South.

On Saturday, there are three fixtures taking place in the Cymru South, all kicking off at 2pm.

Abertillery Bluebirds host Trefelin BGC at Cwm Nant Y Groes, with Llantwit Major taking on Pontardawe Town at the Windmill Ground.

Promotion-chasing Briton Ferry Llanswel will be aiming to cut the gap between themselves and league leaders Llanelli Town, as they travel to Cwmbran Celtic's Celtic Park.

In the Southern League Premier Division, Merthyr Town are in action at Penydarren Park, as they host Walton & Hersham.

Our friends at Chasetown are also playing on Saturday, as they travel to the Help for Heroes Stadium to face Witton Albion.
