Hudson pre-Wigan Athletic | We want to impose ourselves on the game
Ahead of City's return to Sky Bet Championship action at CCS on Saturday afternoon, Mark Hudson spoke to the press to preview the fixture.
Following a positive performance in the Emirates FA Cup last week, which saw the Bluebirds go toe to toe with Premier League club Leeds United, Hudson called for a similar showing against the Latics on Saturday afternoon.
"I thought the atmosphere last weekend was outstanding," Huds began. "I could feel it with the noise levels and excitement for the match. I know that it’s difficult to come to every game, but hopefully the more that we can pack out our home ground and have our fans behind us, the more we can excite them and play like we did last week.
“Having the supporters there in those numbers makes a difference to the staff and players; we can feel all united and together with it.
"We have to use the momentum from our last performance. Between the staff, players and amount of support that was there at CCS, if we can continue that then I’ve got no doubt that we can go on to win games.”
Continuing, Hudson discussed City's approach to the upcoming clash in the Welsh capital, whilst also praising the attitude shown within the squad throughout the week.
“It’s down to us; how we set up and attack the game," Hudson explained. "We’ve been working on it and looking at them for a while. We want to impose ourselves on that game.
“If we played as we have done against Leeds United then we’ll give ourselves a good opportunity to take the three points. We know that we need to pick up wins, but our focus is on how we do that, and then for players to be clear on what the game plan is, then carrying it out.
"We've had some issues with illness around the camp, but everyone who is fit is raring to go. The team who started last weekend proved that they could do it at the highest level against a really good Leeds team, and it's giving me decisions to make with selection ahead of Saturday."
