Horvath pre-Southampton | We want to finish the season strongly
Ethan Horvath spoke to the press ahead of our Sky Bet Championship clash against Southampton on Saturday afternoon.
There are three games of the season remaining for the Bluebirds, with Middlesbrough and Rotherham United to follow.
"It's just down to us," Ethan began. "We have two home games coming up with one away game. These next two home games, they're two tough games, but we want to go out on a good note for ourselves and for the fans especially.
"We're not playing for nothing, we're playing for the fans and we're also playing for ourselves to show our quality. If you're on loan, you want to show your parent club you're still committed and still focused.
"For Cardiff City, you want to show the Club and the fans that you're still committed and still focused until the end. It's three games left and we want to finish on as high of a note as possible."
Southampton currently sit fourth in the Sky Bet Championship table and claimed a convincing win in midweek.
The Saints claimed a 3-0 victory over Preston North End, with Che Adams netting a brace and Stuart Armstrong getting on the scoresheet.
Ethan continued: "All we can control is what we do in training and what the manager tells us to do. Each game is going to be different, depending on who you play. Southampton are a football-based team, so we're not going to have much of the ball.
"We're going to have to adapt our game to that. Me and the defence, midfielders and strikers, all we can control is the gameplan we set out on a Thursday or a Friday and try and execute that to the best of our abilities."
It could be a big summer for the City shot-stopper at international level, with USA competing in the Copa America.
The side have been drawn in Group C, where they will face Uruguay, Panama and Bolivia, with the tournament commencing on June 21st.
"I'm looking forward to it," Ethan added. "It's going to be a very busy summer. First, we've got two friendlies before the tournament and it's going to be a busy tournament. If I get called-up, I'll be really excited for it.
"My first call-up was in 2016 and it was the 50th anniversary of the Copa America. To hopefully go back to that will be really nice. We're building something special there, so hopefully, we can do well there.
"Hosting the tournament is massive for us. I wouldn't say there is pressure on us, but we want to put on a good show and go far in the tournament. Come 2026, in the World Cup, we want to do the same thing."
