Harris | We want to build on Tuesday's victory
READING PREVIEW | HARRIS
Neil Harris spoke at the Vale Resort ahead of Friday night’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Reading.
The City boss first focussed on Thursday’s loan recruitment of Australian international, Brad Smith.
“We are delighted to get the deal over the line,” said Harris. “You can look at his CV and see the pedigree.
“We’ve been looking for a left-back to compete with Joe Bennett. Someone attack-minded, with pace and energy to get up and down the pitch. Brad ticks those boxes.
“He’s trained with the group this morning, which is a positive. He hasn’t played much football in the past six to eight weeks, so we will be patient with him.
“We’re really pleased to have him on board. His character references have been first class and he was desperate to come to Cardiff. I only want players who want to play for this Club.”
Harris went on to set his sights on Friday’s match, as he called for the Bluebirds to use our home victory over West Brom as a platform for further success.
“The challenge to the players is to build on the foundations that we’ve put in place," he added. "We did that on Tuesday night with the win against the league leaders. The next step is to build on that and make it back-to-back wins or put an unbeaten run together.
“We want to repeat the performance on Friday night. We have to find that consistency over the course of 90 minutes, and for the next weeks and months into the end of the season.”
