Harris post-Preston | We've got a foothold to build on
PRESTON REACTION | HARRIS
Neil Harris spoke to the press and media following the Bluebirds' 1-0 victory over Preston North End.
The City boss began by praising his squad for a resilient performance at Deepdale.
"You know what to expect when you come to Preston," he said.
"It's very, very difficult to play against Alex Neil sides. For long spells we dealt with it well. They got into good areas as you expect with the way they play, but we stood firm to it.
"Then we had the important moment of the game: the counter-attack. We had a clean sheet mentality about us, the end product when it mattered and the ruthless nature to get the three points."
City take the spoils back to the Welsh capital, where they will welcome both AFC Bournemouth and Middlesbrough this coming week.
Harris went on to look forward to the challenge that each fixture will pose, adding: "We've got a good mindset about us and have to find a way of being that bit more clinical at home now.
"We love playing at home and are really looking forward to playing two consecutive games. It's a quick turnaround now, Sunday to Wednesday and we'll have to manage the group.
"We look forward to it. With today's result we've got a foothold in the division now and we have to build on that."
