Harris | Delighted with three points on the road
Neil Harris spoke at Kenilworth Road after his Cardiff City side’s 1-0 victory over Luton Town.
Lee Tomlin’s 73rd minute strike was enough to seal a valuable three points against the Hatters, and Harris was full of praise for his midfielder.
“I was delighted with the quality of the goal," he began. "He’s got those moments. A lot of my players have those moments and we needed it today.
“At half-time we spoke about being professional, organised and disciplined as their main threat was through counters from our set plays.
“We then looked much more like us at times. We were playing on the front foot, played good football and got into good areas.
“I was delighted with the clean sheet too and three points on the road.”
The Bluebirds travel to Huddersfield Town on Wednesday before hosting Wigan Athletic back at CCS next weekend.
With victory over the Hatters taking City four points off the Sky Bet Championship’s top six, Harris underlined the importance of another busy stretch of matches.
“The games are coming thick and fast,” he added. “If we want to be serious candidates to get in and around that top six, there are games we have to win, and today was one of them.”
