Karlan Grant spoke to the press ahead of our Sky Bet Championship clash against Sunderland on Good Friday.
Our opponents currently sit 12th in the second-tier table, five points behind the Bluebirds, with the winger commenting on the Black Cats' season.
“It’s probably been up and down from their point of view,” Karlan began. “They started off well, they’re still a good side. Even when we played them at their place earlier on in the season, I thought it was a tough game. We got a good win there. Hopefully, we can start another run of wins again tomorrow.
“They’re good on the ball. We analysed them and they like to play through the lines. Off the ball, I think we can hurt them, just like any team in this division, with runs in-behind and picking up in good spaces.
"I think that’s important and it’s something that we’ve tried to do this season. Hopefully, we can see a very attacking game tomorrow from us.”
The winger has impressed during his loan spell from West Bromwich Albion this term, making an impression with his fantastic work rate.
Karlan continued: “I’ve enjoyed it here. Everyone has been very welcoming. The fans have been great with me and the staff, everyone affiliated with the Club have been great.
“I’ve definitely matured as a player. I do still see myself as a goalscorer and I probably haven’t done that enough this season, but I’ve learned a lot about myself and how I can be an asset to the team. I’ve managed to do that here and I’ve enjoyed it. Hopefully, I can continue that and add more goals.”
City are currently 11th in the table, having won four of the last five fixtures.
The Bluebirds had recorded 39 points at this stage last season, 14 points fewer than this term’s tally.
“I think the season we’ve had as a whole when you look back, it’s been a positive season,” the winger added. “It’s been a difficult league, but we’ve done well and there are still games to play and points to play for.
“There’s a lot of potential here. The squad is a good age and as long as the team keeps believing like we have done this year, we can end the season really strongly.”
