Graham Kavanagh, former City captain...

The Captains Day event is part of the work of our Former Players' Association, an initiative to unite those who have worn the shirt and promote friendship, belonging and pastoral support.

FPA board member Roger Gibbins said ahead of the event: "It's very exciting, both for me personally and for all concerned at the Club to get some star-quality former players that captained City back in the building. It's great for what we're trying to do with the Former Players' Association. From Graham Kavanagh, to David Marshall, to Terry Boyle and so many others, there have been some fantastic captains and leaders of this Club, so it will be great for us and the fans to see them.

"One of the points of the FPA is to get players back that fans adore and remember fondly. They were truly for exceptional for our Club and going back even further to Ritchie Morgan, who is coming and hadn't been back for nearly four decades before coming back to a game last year. He contacted me to say how much he's excited to come back and how much he appreciates us inviting him, which is great. It proves we have former players that want to come back and fans that want to see them."
