With the Bluebirds through to the Fourth Round following victory over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane last month, the defender cited his desire for City to continue their cup run, whilst returning to winning ways on Saturday.

“We’ve had a really good week of training,” Will began. “The lads are in good spirits and we played well last time we went to Stoke, so we just want to replicate that.

“Last weekend was a learning experience, and we’ve had to use it in a positive way, with an unbeaten run before that. The lads have spoken what they thought and now we move on.

“We can’t let that interrupt where we were earlier, and we’ll bounce back; you’ll see a reaction on the weekend."

With the cup tie beginning another busy week of fixtures, Fish discussed the shared excitement of the squad at getting back to competitive action.

“Every game of football you want to win," Will continued. "Whether it’s a different lineup to what you saw last weekend or not, everyone wants to play and I’m sure the lads that do will give everything.

“It’s a historic competition, and we want to go as far as we possibly can.

“Every time you play for the Club, you try your best. Not playing is tough at times but the lads in front of have done well, and the way football works it takes one little moment or chance, and you’ve got to take it.

“We fully believe that we can go there and get the win, but as I’ve said we want to get as far as possible in this competition.”
