Fiona Barry becomes City Women's first summer signing

Women
The Bluebirds' attacking options ahead of the 2024/25 season have been bolstered by the signing of Fiona Barry.

The 17-year-old striker arrives from Bridgwater United, who finished sixth in the FA Women's National League Division One South West last season in the fourth tier of the English pyramid.

Barry adds to our strong attacking options, linking up with fellow strikers Eliza Collie, Mackenzie Olden, Molly Kehoe, Rhianne Oakley, Madison Lloyd and Olivia Basham.

After joining the Bluebirds, Fiona said: "I'm very pleased to join the Club. I think it will be a great challenge and I can't wait to get started. I've had a lot of experience from a young age and I've been in training with the girls so far in pre-season, it's great quality and I think that will push me really well.

"The girls have all welcomed me and the coaching staff have really supported me through everything I've been doing."

Head coach Iain Darbyshire added: "We're delighted to welcome Fiona to the Club. She's a really exciting, direct player who will add a lot to our squad.

"Over the last few years, we've prided ourselves on developing young players into some of the league's best and Fiona has a lot of talent at 17, which will only develop even further during her time at the Club, so we're looking forward to working with her and seeing her progression."
