Erol pre-LUFC | Fighting together for the Club
Ahead of Saturday’s fixture against Leeds United, Erol Bulut spoke to the press at CCS.
Issuing a rallying call to the City faithful this weekend, Erol cited the response from his side during the week, following a return to the training pitch in preparation for Saturday’s clash with the Whites.
“If you are with Cardiff City, be with us until the end,” Erol began. “Until we die we have to be together, not only when we are winning.
“When we are together we have to be together, and not just for show. Cardiff City fans support us; they travel with us and give everything for the Club. We showed in pre-season games that we can do it, but we haven’t had the luck.
“The players are frustrated like me, they are trying hard. This week, we spoke and had meetings.
“Our training sessions have been good and everybody knows the situation and the pressure. I feel it and the players do too, this is normal as life in football is like that.
“Saturday we will be on the field, and we will try everything to change it. The only place where we can speak is on the field.”
Addressing the beginning to the league campaign, Erol reflected on the performances up to this point, as the Bluebirds strive for a return to form beginning on Saturday afternoon.
“It’s normal that I have pressure when you don’t get results that we are expecting, I can live with this,” said Erol. “This is the first time in my career that I’ve had a start like this.
“We have to be realistic; the opponents against us, what they create has not been better than us, aside from against Burnley.
“All of the other games, we had enough chances to lead the game or win, but football is like this. When opponents score and we don’t, and the results are how they have been, then you get pressure.”
With tributes to Sol Bamba organised this weekend, Erol spoke about the late City great, and shares his thoughts on what is needed for the Bluebirds to find a result.
“For both Clubs this is important,” Erol explained. “I knew him a little bit, but for that short time I saw his great character, and personality, so we have to play for him.
“Work, work, work. And not only me, everybody has got to work hard. It is a difficult moment for all of us, but we have to work. We have to do more than enough. We can push for more. We are better than where we are now.
“I take the responsibility, so hopefully my team can answer to that on Saturday.”
