Erol pre-Burnley | We will go to take our chance

Interviews
Erol Bulut spoke to the media at Cardiff City Stadium to preview our clash with Burnley this weekend, opening with an injury update.

"Callum Robinson trained today individually, and tomorrow he will have a session to see if he is available or not on Saturday.

"For David Turnbull, he will have a scan today, and then we will know more tomorrow. It looks like he will be out for one month. He had a shot on goal in the warm-up, and then he felt a pain in his adductor. I hope it is not something serious.

"Anwar El Ghazi is training hard. Of course, we don't want to use him so early that he gets injured. We want him fully fit, then he can play continuously for us. He needs more time."

Burnley opened their Championship campaign with a 4-1 win at Luton Town on Monday night, with Erol discussing the test he expects to face at Turf Moor.

"They are a strong team. They already had a strong team two years ago when they got promoted, and when they got to the Premier League they added a lot of quality players.

"Some players have left, but they are still a really strong candidate to get promoted again. But, we will go to Burnley to take our chance.

"Last year we tried to build something, but of course with injuries it didn't go how we wanted. But this year it's more clear which style we want to play.

"We are training hard every day, and we expect from our players, even in training, to deliver good quality. Then we want to see the same at the games."

The boss also commented on last night's Carabao Cup victory, which saw an entirely different starting XI to Saturday's clash with Sunderland.

"First of all, some of the young players have given me many points to think about. Now, we are clear which players we can give for a loan.

"Players like Raheem Conte, Malachi Fagan-Walcott and Kieron Evans can come back next season in a good shape, like Joel Bagan and Isaak Davies did. Of course, we can use a few young players during the season.

"The first half last night was not what we wanted to see. You need runs in behind, and the second half was much better. We want this generally for all the games, and for the weekend this will be important for us."
