Erol post-Blackburn Rovers | Important to get the confidence back
EROL BULUT SPOKE TO THE PRESS AFTER THE BLUEBIRDS AND BLACKBURN ROVERS SHARED THE POINTS IN A GOALLESS DRAW AT CCS.
“Generally, I’m satisfied tonight, when we look at previous weeks.” Erol began. “It was not easy for my team, as confidence has been lost over the last games, so it was important to get that confidence back.
“Defensively we were really good; in front of goal is the issue right now. We are creating lots but just can’t put the ball in the net, so we have to continue to work hard in training.
“We pressed really well today, we didn’t allow very many runs in behind. We just have to be sharper with the ball and more aggressive.”
Erol provided updates on the fitness of Aaron Ramsey, Perry Ng and Joe Ralls, who were all unable to feature against Rovers.
“Perry had a hip problem so he wasn’t ready to play 90 minutes. Maybe he could’ve played 20 minutes, but I didn’t want to risk it. Ralls had a knock on his knee from the last game, so I also didn’t want to risk him.
With Ramsey, he reported a strain, but it turns out it’s not a strain on the muscle, it’s a strain on the tendon. He will be available at the end of March - they have told me 4-6 weeks.”
Erol commented on City's positive performance in defensive, with praise for January signing Ethan Horvath, who made a crucial save to ensure a clean sheet for the Bluebirds.
“Today was good, we were more aggressive against the ball. Our wingers worked well, the only thing that was missing was the goal. We can do more.
“Ethan hasn’t been playing a long time, now he’s really getting better with every game. Today was a really good game, I hope he can continue because he have two really good goalkeepers in Jak and Ethan.”
