Davies pre-Aston Villa | We'll take it in our stride

Isaak Davies
Ahead of Friday night’s Emirates FA Cup clash against Aston Villa, Isaak Davies spoke to the press at CCS.

Returning from injury to applause at Cardiff City Stadium in Tuesday night’s league victory over Hull City, Isaak began by reflecting on his comeback to competitive action.

“It’s always tough, when you’re injured you just want to be playing football,” said Davies. “Every player goes through it.

"I’ve been a bit unlucky but there’s been a bit of good to come from it, as I know my body better than ever now and I’ve worked on other aspects of my game.

“Physically I feel good, but I need to get my match fitness back and that’s coming. I’ll keep getting sharper the more I play now.

"I've put in the work and I'm coming back stronger than I was before."

Turning his attention towards the weekend, the forward shared his excitement at what is sure to be a stern challenge against Premier League opposition at Villa Park.

“It’s going to be a big test," Isaak continued. "But like we did at Anfield a couple of years ago, we gave a good account of ourselves and we’re looking to do the same against Aston Villa.

“We’re going to go there trying to win the game as we do every game, and we’ll need to do our best.

“We’ve got a lot of experience, and whoever plays in the game will do their best. We’ve got some good squad depth now with players coming in who can do a good job."

Isaak concluded: “We need to give a good account of ourselves and go from there. Playing against the big teams we need to take it in our stride and enjoy it.”
