Isaak Davies spoke to Cardiff City TV after the Bluebirds drew at home with Sheffield Wednesday.
“It was special to see that goal go in,” Isaak began. “I’ve been working hard to get back from injury, so to get the goal in my first start back at Cardiff City Stadium was a good feeling.”
“I really enjoyed the first half. The gaffer said before the game he wants energy, he wants us to make things happen, and I thought we did that. It’s disappointing that we couldn’t carry that on in the second half.”
Davies sustained an injury in pre-season that put him out of action for a number of months, and the forward spoke about how difficult it was to be out of the squad.
“It was tough. I spoke about it before, but it feels like you’re out of the picture, especially when you have an injury that keeps you out for a long time. It was really tough, but I’m glad I’ve bounced back and made my way back into the team.”

Isaak was part of an XI today with an average age of 24, and explained that City's young players are eager to push us up the table.
“I feel like when I’m under pressure I play better,” he concluded. “When I was on loan out with Kortrijk last season, we were in a similar position to where we are now. Every game was a scrap to get three points. Even though there’s a lot of young players here, a few of us have experience of being in these situations.
“I feel like the young players, as well as the older ones, are hungry and we all want to help this club. We just need to keep on, keep going, and not dwell too long on results. We need to put today past us now and move on to QPR next week.”
