Davies post-Preston | A dream come true
Isaak Davies spoke with delight to Cardiff City TV following the Bluebirds’ 2-1 victory over Preston North End and progression to the Fourth Round of the Emirates FA Cup.
The 20-year-old opened the scoring at Cardiff City Stadium, his first Bluebirds goal in his tenth First Team appearance, before fellow Academy graduate Mark Harris netted the winner in extra-time.
“It’s obviously a dream come true to score my first goal,” began Isaak. “I’ve dreamt of this day for ages, it would’ve been better if the fans were there, but it’s still a great moment for me and my family.
“We battled right until the end, that’s what we always do, so we’re delighted to get the win and go through to the next round.”
The forward went on to reveal his determination to continue impressing on the pitch, before speaking about the Fourth Round tie against Liverpool at Anfield.
“I need to keep trying to show everyone what I can do because I’m still in the early stages, getting experience and learning every match. More games and minutes is going to be good for me, and I’m looking forward to them.
“There is a big difference between U23 and First Team football, especially with the intensity, you’ve got to be on it every day in training: I think I’ve coped quite well so far and just want to keep going.
“When we drew Liverpool, everyone was buzzing in the changing room. It will be crazy going to Anfield, getting the fans with us and we couldn’t ask for much more!”
