Community Foundation Round-Up | Honouring Remembrance Day
Honouring Remembrance Day and supporting Cardiff City Veterans Hub
Cardiff City FC Community Foundation remembers all of the men and women who have sacrificed their lives.
The Foundation use the sense of belonging with Cardiff City Football Club to support Armed Forces Veterans who are at high risk of social isolation.
Members of Cardiff City Community Foundation Veterans Hub came together at our Remembrance fixture over the weekend and lined up pitch-side for a moment of silence alongside our fans and players to honour and reflect on those who have lost their lives.
Wales has one of the largest proportions of veterans in the UK with 7% of all veterans currently living here. Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan has a veterans' population of around 27,320 and 8% suffer from mental health issues including depression and anxiety.

Offering future pathways at Cardiff City FC Community Foundation's Open Evening
The Community Foundation want to share a huge thank you to everyone who attended their open evening last week!
The event allowed attendees to explore future paths, discover their courses, and experience Futsal.
A huge shoutout to guest speaker Grace Evans, Cardiff City Women’s player, for sharing how their Level 2 & 3 courses can help level up your coaching, 11-a-side game and even lead to degree-level study.
The Foundation pride themselves on creating a welcoming and supportive environment so that our students can thrive. Our courses provide students with an insight into the practicalities of the sports industry, in a non-traditional learning environment.
Their BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Sport & Excellence and NCFE Level 3 Diploma in Sport & Physical Activity allows the tutors to work closely with each individual to understand their needs to help them progress to university or employment.
Cardiff City FC Community Foundation support student’s ambition to progress into higher education or employment by mentoring, using their expertise and their ability to arrange relevant work experience within the sports industry.
The team also provide students with extra-curricular opportunities throughout the course, including volunteering opportunities with Cardiff City Football Club, and the chance to complete FAW Level 1 coaching qualifications.
