Colwill post-KV Kortrijk | We've got a really bright future ahead

Interviews
Rubin Colwill spoke to Cardiff City TV after scoring in City's 3-1 win over KV Kortrijk on Saturday.

"It's obviously nice to be back with all of the lads." Rubin began. "We've trained really hard, worked really hard and we're getting on really well, which is important. It's been tough, but I do enjoy being back in.

"The game against Kidderminster, we had lots of chances and got in really good areas, which I think is an improvement from where we've been before. I think the more we get there, the better we'll be.

"I feel like we've had a gradual increase in the standard and the intensity of the games. Kortrijk are obviously a good side, they had some players and I thought it was a good game.

"We came a long way last season, and I think we've got a really bright future ahead, this year. I think there's a lot of stuff that we're nearly there on, and if that starts falling for us it will be a good year. I'm really excited."

The Wales international netted the Bluebirds' third goal against De Kerels, sealing a deserved victory for Erol Bulut's men.

He continued: "Today I was more on the left, which I quite enjoy. I like cutting inside on my right foot, and then being able to go on my left foot down the outside. It's a bit different, but I do enjoy the variation in that position.

"The goalscoring element is something that I'm really working on. Last season, if I added that to my game, it would have been a really good year. I think I did well, but that's the final bit I need to add.

"I did get my goal and had a couple of shots, but working out when to shoot and when to pass, I'm still working on that.

"I try my best every day to improve and do as well as I can, and I'll see where that takes me. I try to focus on the day-to-day stuff, do as well as I can, work really hard. Hopefully, the good things will come."
