Jamilu Collins spoke to the press ahead of our Sky Bet Championship clash with Bristol City on Saturday.
The City left-back has had a positive start to the campaign, having missed most of last season through a long-term injury.
“I’m enjoying my season so far," JC began. "I’m happy to be back in the team after a long season out. It was a tough one for me, but the good thing for me is that I have good teammates.
“They are all lovely guys and they kept me going. I came back strongly and hopefully, I can continue.
“We are lucky to be part of this great team. This set of players, it’s hard to find in clubs. I think I’m a lucky guy to meet players like this. We have a big bond together, all the players.”
The Bluebirds head into this weekend currently sat in seventh position, having defeated Huddersfield Town in midweek.
Since the appointment of boss Erol Bulut in the summer, City have recorded 20 points from their opening 13 matches.
JC continued: “He has a structure and he knows what he wants to do. When we as players are doing exactly what he wants us to do, we get results and hopefully, we keep enjoying ourselves.
“He jokes when he has to joke and when it’s business time, he’s focused on business.
“We are all doing well, we can still improve in so many ways, but for the fans, we want to give them joy when they’re watching Cardiff City."
This Saturday will be the City defender's first taste of a Severnside derby, having missed both fixtures last season due to injury.
The Robins are currently 13th in the table, having been defeated by high-flying Ipswich Town on Wednesday evening.
“A derby is a derby," JC added. "We don’t want to lose to teams like this and we are going to play with all of our heart to make our fans proud and play to the instruction of the coach.
“Every game is tough. Bristol City are a good team, we know that they are a good side, but we are also a good side. We are going to give our all for this game."
