U19 Squad Update

City Women U19 squad update ahead of 2024/25 season

Women
After another fantastic year for our u19s in 2023/24, we welcome six new bluebirds to the squad ahead of the new season.

The U19s have been a hugely successful addition to the Women's programme since its formation in 2020, with no less than eight debuts at senior level last season.

On Iain Darbyshire's side's route to completing a domestic treble, the likes of Eliza Collie and Mikayla Cook both starred, who are products of our U19s.

In the 2024/25 season, the side will be managed by Tom Stiley, with the continued vision of developing players to reach their potential. Noah Bushby will join the coaching staff of the senior team.

Goalkeepers: Grace Olsen*, Madison Mackenzie*
Defence: Ruby Medcraft, Maddison Coles, Holly Jones, Emillia Ashun*, Mia Leonard*
Midfield: Iris Jones, Brooke Arthur, Bella Williams, Rebecca Neill*
Attackers: Lucy Malin, Grace Evans, Quianna Wheeler, Georgina Bull, Chloe Newman*, Mali Ackerman, Grace Phillips, Demi Parry.

Speaking about our U19s squad, Tom Stiley said: “We’re thrilled to welcome our U19's back for another season and personally, I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with the promising potential within the squad. We have returned to pre-season training in preparation for a number of great fixtures against some really tough opposition from Wales and England. We are really looking forward to challenging the girls to be ready for what will be the most competitive Adran U19's league season thus far and on top of the that, we have the South Wales FA Senior Women's trophy to defend.

"The U19s programme is vitally important for our Women's section in preparing our young Bluebirds for the transition to senior football and we have so far seen some great success stories coming out of our U19's pathway through to the Senior Team. We’ll be working hard on and off the pitch to ensure each player is being tested, individually and within the group, to help each individual reach their potential. It's going to be a really exciting season ahead.”
