City in Focus | Eliza Collie reflects on remarkable campaign

Eliza Collie
One of City Women's standout players in the 2023/24 season was Eliza Collie.

The striker netted an impressive 29 goals in all competitions and was the Adran Premier top scorer, as the side achieved a domestic treble for the first time in the Club's history.

Reflecting on the campaign, Eliza said: "This team is a special group of players. I wouldn't have scored all my goals if I didn't have the girls behind me.

"Winning one trophy is great for a season, but as a squad, we knew what we wanted to do at the start of the season and that was to aim for all three trophies.

"We've all worked so hard to achieve what we set out to do and when we won the third trophy against Wrexham on the last day of the season, we knew it all paid off and you could see how much it meant to us."

The striker made a habit of performing in the biggest games, netting a brace in the 4-0 win over Swansea City, which secured the league title, as well as scoring twice in the Adran Trophy Final.

"The girls have been great this season," Eliza continued. "As a squad, we've worked really hard over the season, whether it be in training or in games. We've been able to showcase why we are the best team in Wales.

"For me personally, I'm extremely proud of how I've played this season, but I know I can always do better and I will always try to push for more and work harder than last year."

Eliza's form has resulted in a nomination for the Adran Premier Young Player of the Season award.

The shortlist includes City teammate Molly Kehoe, who has enjoyed a stellar first season in the Welsh capital, as well as Wrexham playmaker Lili Jones.

She concluded: "It's a great feeling and an honour to be shortlisted for the award. For me personally, I've worked extremely hard this season.

"I knew I had a point to prove coming into the new season. I wanted to cement my place in the team and show my ability, I think I've done that."
