From lifting trophies to representing the Bluebirds in Europe, it was a brilliant year for Eliza Collie in 2023. 

The City striker played a huge part in winning the Adran Premier and the Bute Energy Welsh Cup at the end of last season. 

Eliza also made her UEFA Champions League debut, featuring in both matches in Lithuania against FC Gintra and Shelbourne. 

"I think it was a good year for all of us as players and as a Club, it's been very positive," Eliza began. "It was a good year for me personally, especially the second half of last season.

"Last season was a big achievement. Of course, we were aiming for three trophies and finished with two, but to be able to contribute and help the team win was a great feeling. 

"Playing in the Champions League was massive. It's something that you always dream of as a kid and to playing in the Champions League at 18, it was a huge thing for me. It was great to do it with our squad as well, we're like a family, so it means more to do it with everyone else."

The Bluebirds have made an unbeaten start to the Adran Premier season, currently sitting at the top of the table. 

Eliza has played a massive part in a successful campaign so far, contributing with 16 goals in all competitions.

December saw the striker net eight goals, ending the year with a hat-trick against Aberystwyth Town and a Player of the Month nomination.

The City attacker continued: "I'm very pleased. It's been a good season for us all. To be unbeaten, we want to keep that going now.

"It was really good to end 2023 on a high. It sets me up to go into our fixtures in January with a lot of confidence and try and keep scoring as much as I can. 

"The whole squad deserve to be nominated for Player of the Match or Player of the Month, but I'm really pleased to be nominated for December."

City return to action in the first game of 2024 on Sunday, facing Wrexham in the Adran Trophy. Eliza has set her sights on continuing her form of last calendar year.

She concluded: "I'm very eager to continue my form from last year. I just want to keep pushing forward. I don't think there's a limit, I just want to keep improving.

"Last year was a great year for us as a team, but we always have high targets and we want to achieve even more in 2024."
