Calum Chambers spoke to the media ahead of our fixture against Norwich City on Saturday at Cardiff City Stadium.
Ahead of this weekend’s fixture against the Canaries, City are looking to extend our unbeaten run to six matches.
“We’ve worked on how to play against them,“ Calum began. "That is what we’ve been doing this week, like we do with every game. We’ll go into it and prepare like we’ve done with the games previously and go into it with the attitude and desire of the last five games.
“I think there’s a real buzz around the place now. There’s a confidence within us; it’s a tough league with lots of games and short rest periods, but we’ve got some momentum at the minute. We’re keeping clean sheets, winning games and scoring goals, so we need to keep working on that, keep building on that momentum and just try to push to keep the desire and the consistency up and do the best we can to keep this run going.”
Following last weekend’s valuable point against West Bromwich Albion, City have now kept three consecutive clean sheets in the Sky Bet Championship.
“It’s both sides of the game you need to get right and work on,” Calum continued. “There’s a certain balance you have to have, and I feel we have done that and improved on that massively.
"I’m very happy with the run of clean sheets which is a team effort collectively. Everyone has bought into the defensive side of the game. I feel Millwall at home on the Tuesday night was a turning point for us on that - it was a game where everyone had to dig in and all fight together.
“We’re showing both sides of the game at the minute, we’re showing we can go and score goals, create chances and have lots of opportunities, but we’re also showing a side of the game that’s hard to get, which is a defensive ruthlessness to our game, and we need to keep working on both sides of the game. The fact we’re doing that well at the moment is really promising.
“Since that Millwall game, it made everyone realise what it took to win a game and what it took to keep a clean sheet, and I feel we have taken that attitude and desire into every game since then, which has been brilliant.
“As a defender, it's brilliant to see that side of the game, which is what I mean by the team collectively being on the same page. We all want to go and score, but the whole team now want to keep a clean sheet and defend, so we feel really strong as a group.”
Both sides head into this weekend's contest in positive form, as the Bluebirds are unbeaten in five, while the Canaries have not lost in their last seven matches.
Calum added: “We had quite a few new players come in the summer, which will always take time to find a way we play. New players in a new style, in a new team, it can take some time to gel. I feel in the last five or six games, we have found our identity in the team.
"I feel we’re all on the same page and everyone knows what we want from the game and what our style is, so we’ve got a direction we are heading in now. We have got to just keep working hard, keep working on the training pitch as much as we can and putting that into games and give every game everything we have.
“I’m enjoying it here. It’s a great Club and it’s a great group of players. You always want to have an identity as a team, you want to have something to work towards. The main thing is winning, of course, but if you can win games in a style, with the identity and philosophy we’re trying to create, it’s even better. If you can’t, you find other ways to win.”
