On Sunday evening, Cardiff City FC won the Fan Engagement Award at the EFL Awards 2025.
In a ceremony celebrating the best of the Football League throughout the 2024/25 season, our 125th anniversary celebration campaign won the award, which takes elements of the previous EFL Family Club Award and provides recognition to a Club who demonstrates how it specifically involves and liaises with supporters.

Throughout this season the club has made a city wide effort to celebrate the historic milestone and ensure that all of Cardiff and wider communities across South Wales have been included. Working closely with the Fan Advisory Board on the project the celebrations have taken many forms including:
- A special night lighting up Cardiff Castle and Roath Park Lake Lighthouse in Cardiff City blue.
- The four-part "Eras" documentary, chronicling the Club's history from its origins as Riverside AFC through to present day.
- Matchday programme The Bluebird featuring cover designs replicating programmes from seasons past.
- Making 125 player visits in communities around the Welsh capital and its surrounding areas.
- Cardiff City FC Community Foundation making a pledge to raise £125,000 to contribute to worthy causes around Cardiff.
- Legacy Numbers launching with a permanent home on the official Club website, listing all past and present Bluebirds who have represented the Club's First Team competitively.
- Launching a commemorative bus with Cardiff Bus, that shuttled supporters around the capital on matchdays.
