Callum Robinson is a Bluebird
Cardiff City FC are delighted to confirm that Callum Robinson has joined the Club on a permanent deal, subject to clearance.
The 27-year-old has put pen to paper on a three-year deal at Cardiff City Stadium, arriving in South Wales from West Bromwich Albion for an undisclosed fee.
The forward began his career with Aston Villa before joining Preston North End permanently in 2016 following two successful loan spells at Deepdale. In total, he scored 41 goals in 160 matches for the Lilywhites.
Robinson made the move to the Premier League with Sheffield United in 2019, making 16 top flight appearances before joining Albion in January 2020. After helping the Baggies win promotion, he signed for the club on a permanent basis, making 95 outings with a tally of 12 goals and 17 assists.
On the international stage, Callum has earned 30 caps for the Republic of Ireland national team and has scored seven goals since making his debut against Wales at CCS back in September 2018.
Speaking at his new home ground, Callum said: “I’m buzzing. It’s another adventure for me and a challenge I’m looking forward to. I can’t wait to meet the boys and the staff.
“I spoke with the Gaffer and I saw the match against West Brom, and City love playing football. That is me to a tee.
“I love scoring goals and assisting. It’s what I’ve done most of my career. I’m hoping I can do plenty more of that here and to help this team.”
Having completed his seventeenth summer signing, Steve Morison added: “I’m delighted to have Callum on board. He’s a very talented player, and he can play anywhere across the forward line.
“He’s coming in to help the squad, and I’m really looking forward to working with him.
“I’d like to thank Tan Sri Vincent Tan and Ken Choo for their support in bringing Callum to the Club.”
Welcome to the Welsh capital, Callum!
