Bulut pre-Ipswich Town | A winning spirit
Erol Bulut spoke to the press ahead of City’s Sky Bet Championship fixture against Ipswich Town at Portman Road on Saturday afternoon.
Last time out, the Bluebirds claimed a 3-1 victory over Birmingham City with an impressive performance.
“Slowly, we are getting to what I want to see from my players and how they have to play,” Erol began. “Against Birmingham, they did a really good job. The young players and the experienced players, I was really satisfied with their performance.
“I was happy with Romaine [Sawyers], Andy [Rinomhota], Rubin [Colwill] and Ollie [Tanner], they played well. Karlan [Grant] did what I want to see from him, which was to make the runs in behind.
“Generally I was satisfied with their performance, and this is how I want to see my players play.”
The Bluebirds head into this weekend looking for three consecutive wins, having also defeated Sheffield Wednesday at Cardiff City Stadium last week.
Erol continued: “We keep our feet on the ground. We continue to work hard every day. Ipswich will not be easy, they are a good team, but we will go there to take something from the game.
“We will play against a team who score a lot of goals. Their last game was a 4-3 defeat, so we can see that they have problems defensively and we have to use this.
“Of course, everybody wants to win - all the managers, all players, everybody wants to win. For me, even training matches, I want to win.
“I try to give them the winning spirit, to think positively. To think already about the match, what I want to do in the match, how I want to do it, these are important things, and I try to give them all positive things.”
The City boss concluded by giving an injury update ahead of this weekend’s fixture.
“Callum O’Dowda has a problem with his tendon. I initially thought it would be a few days, but it looks like two to three weeks.
“Josh Bowler, I saw him on the field today, so after the international break, he will be with us.”
