Bluebirds to face Afan Lido in the Nathaniel MG Cup
Cardiff City FC will travel to Afan Lido in Round One of the Nathaniel MG Cup.
The fixture will take place at Lido Ground on Friday, July 19th, 7.30pm kick-off.
With the draw initially placing the Bluebirds as hosts of the tie, City have agreed with the Cymru South outfit to reverse the fixture. This fits with our desire to add variety to matchday experiences within our player development journey and also falls in line with our aims to develop relationships with local clubs. The reversal of the fixture should attract a good crowd and serve as an additional financial boost to our hosts.
Ticket information for this fixture will be announced in due course.
Taking part in last season's edition of the competition as a wild card entry, the Bluebirds' U21 side defeated Cambrian & Clydach Vale in the First Round, before Cian Ashford scored all four goals in a 4-0 away victory against Haverfordwest County.
Facing fellow wild card entry Swansea City in the Third Round, the Bluebirds were narrowly defeated at the Swansea.com Stadium in September 2023.
