The Bluebirds are supporting Restart a Heart Day
The Bluebirds are supporting Restart a Heart Day on Saturday in partnership with Cardiff University’s student doctors and nurses.
Last year’s European Championships saw Christian Eriksen suffer a sudden cardiac arrest on the pitch. His life was saved by quick action from the players and medics; quick recognition of cardiac arrest, CPR and use of a defibrillator.
Sudden cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, including athletes and young people so it is important everyone knows the skills to recognise it, get involved and save a life.
Restart a Heart Day is the annual campaign to equip thousands of people with these lifesaving skills. The players will wear Restart a Heart t-shirts during their warm-up to raise awareness of the campaign. Scan the QR code and learn the basics of how to recognise and save someone having a cardiac arrest.
We would like to encourage everyone to learn these skills at an organised session. There will be drop-in sessions at Tesco Extra, Gabalfa, Asda, Cardiff Bay & St David’s Shopping Centre all day tomorrow (16th October) for those wanting to learn more.
Thank you / Diolch yn fawr.
