Bacuna | Exactly what was needed

Leandro Bacuna spoke to cardiffcityfc.co.uk following the Bluebirds' 3-1 victory at Middlesbrough.

The Curaçao international has earned plenty of plaudits for his displays since the return to action, now filling in admirably at right-back in consecutive victories.

But Leandro was full of praise for his skipper and fellow teammates as he reflected on a hard-fought win. 

"It was exactly what we needed," began Leandro. "The lads worked very hard and I think we deserved to win. 

"We played some great stuff for the final two goals, but we’d been waiting for a set-piece goal for a while too! 

"It was a great header from our skipper and he deserves it more than anyone as he’s been double man-marked for a while now."

The Bluebirds have it all in their own hands going into final day, with a point against Hull City required to confirm a place in the Play-Offs.

Leandro called for another big performance from his teammates as he shifted his sights onto Wednesday evening's match. 

"Looking forwards, we know a point is enough on Wednesday," he continued. "But we’ve been playing such good football and want to keep that going. 

"We have everything in our own hands so we’ve got to go back home and finish it off now."
