City winger Cian Ashford was on press duties on Thursday afternoon, previewing the weekend's trip to Leeds United.
The 20-year-old has been a crucial part of our recent run of eight games unbeaten.
"It's obviously been a really good start to 2025 and I've enjoyed every moment out on the pitch," Cian began. "I think when I went on against Oxford United, I just sort of played with freedom and confidence and didn't really have anything to lose because we were already behind. I just kind of went on there, didn't have any stress, no worries and just tried to play with freedom. Obviously when you score then it gives you a good confidence boost and puts you in a good place.
"I've just been really excited and happy that I've got into the team. I managed to stay in the team for these run-of-games. I'm just happy that the manager could trust me."
Saturday will bring a big challenge to the Bluebirds, travelling to face a Leeds United side that top the Sky Bet Championship table.
Cian continued: "We know that they've got quality and they're a good team. But, with the form that we're in and the confidence amongst our players, we feel happy and confident that we can go there and give them a tough game.
"We're not trying to get too ahead of ourselves though because in the Championship, everything can change so quickly. We're just trying to focus game-by-game and take it result-by-result and hopefully that we can make that gap bigger and bigger as the season goes on."
Cian has been with City since he was six-years-old. Speaking about his time with the Bluebirds, he added: "It is in our blood now. We used to come down and watch them and then obviously going on to play for the Club. Also for my parents following me around England, Wales and they've even flown abroad just to watch me play football. So it's become a real big part of my life and my family's life now.
"It was always my dream. That's all I've ever focused on, but for it to actually become a reality it means the world to me."
