Cardiff City Women produced a dominant display to secure a 3-1 victory over Barry Town United away at Jenner Park.
Goals from Mikayla Cook, Fiona Barry and Molly Kehoe secured all three points in an impressive display away at Barry.
City made three changes to their team for their first game of 2025, with Kehoe, Cook and Hollie Smith coming in.
The Bluebirds took the lead early through Cook, whose cross from the left-hand flank sailed into the back of the net.
City pushed for a second, but Lily Billingham’s powerful strike was denied by the woodwork.
Barry Town United equalised through Ingrid Aadland, whose long distance shot was out of reach for City goalkeeper Ceryn Chamberlain to draw the hosts level.
The Bluebirds went close to finding a leveller, Cook found space on the left-hand side and delivered a cross into the box, but Eliza Collie was unable to get on the end of it to tap it home.
Minutes later Fiona Barry gave City the lead again, her shot took a deflection and hit the back of the net to make it two for the Bluebirds.
City were again denied by the woodwork when Kerry Walklett thundered a shot goalwards from distance.
Kehoe had a chance to make it three, but her volley flew just wide of the post. However, minutes later Kehoe had another chance, and this time made it count, smashing home from close range to secure the three points for City and start the year with an important victory.
