ADRAN PREMIER | SEASON SO FAR

The Bluebirds head into Sunday’s fixture on the back of a clinical performance against Pontypridd United last week.

Iain Darbyshire’s side recorded an impressive 5-1 victory, with Eliza Collie, Siobhan Walsh, Molly Kehoe, Seren Watkins and Mikayla Cook on the scoresheet.

The victory stretched City’s lead at the top of the Adran Premier table to three points, with Wrexham and Swansea City level in second on ten points.

Sunday’s opponents, Barry Town United, have won one and lost four of their opening five fixtures.

The Linnets are currently seventh in the table, three points above Pontypridd United and two points behind Cardiff Metropolitan University.

The side’s solitary victory of the campaign came against the latter, earning a 4-2 win at Jenner Park in their last league game.

Danielle Green in action for Cardiff City Women
City Memories | Danielle Green

Bluebirds wing-back Danielle Green has shown her quality in previous performances at CCS, notably scoring a brilliant solo goal in last season's victory over Abergavenny.

Reflecting on the experience, Danielle said: "It was definitely one of the more memorable goals I’ve scored, not only because I don’t score that many, but because of the whole atmosphere and the occasion. It was definitely a special moment for me!

"To play at CCS is a massive stepping stone for the squad in terms of how football is developing in Wales. It’s a great opportunity for us to showcase our talent on a wider scale, in front of all our fans.

"They are massive for us, they spur us on to be better, no matter what game it is. We perform well so that our fans can be inspired by us to become footballers in the future, or to even just enjoy watching women’s football in Wales."
