Round-Up & Gallery: The Bluebirds in Devon & Cornwall

The past week has seen Cardiff City's senior and U23 sides continue their pre-season preparations for the 2018/19 season with a successful and rewarding tour of Devon & Cornwall.

Neil Warnock described the tour as a "perfect week", explaining that his main objective was to give the players plenty of minutes at this stage in pre-season, whilst allowing them to bond away from the pitch.

City's first team took part in a number of training sessions at Lux Park - the home of Liskeard Athletic. The tour allowed two absent members of the squad to join back up with their teammates: namely Kenneth Zohore, following the birth of his son, Kenzo; and Aron Gunnarsson, after his World Cup exploits with Iceland.

City new boys Alex Smithies, Greg Cunningham, Josh Murphy and Bobby Reid were all welcomed into the fold - off the pitch and on it - as the senior team scored 19 goals and conceded just two over their three games.

Further pre-season tests now follow against Rotherham United, Burton Albion, Greenock Morton and Real Betis.

Meanwile, the Bluebirds' U23s - who will complete their pre-season away at Hereford and Wealdstone - enjoyed four victories during their tour, netting on 26 occasions in the process.

Many thanks to all of the sides that hosted us during the tour for their fantastic hospitality! Best of luck for the campaign to come...

Thanks also to all of the travelling Bluebirds who made the trip down to cheer the boys on - we hope you enjoyed the week!
