FAW Women's Cup Final | Cardiff City FC Women vs. Swansea City Ladies
This Sunday (15th April), Cardiff City Stadium will host the FAW Women’s Cup Final between Cardiff City FC Women and Swansea City Ladies - 3pm kick-off!
The Bluebirds, who last won the competition in 2015/16, defeated Cyncoed Ladies by a single goal in the semi-finals. Alana Murphy’s excellent effort was enough to secure a deserved victory.
Tickets can be purchased on the day of the match at Cardiff City Stadium for just £4 per Adult & £1 per Child/OAP.
We caught up with Cardiff City FC Women's Team Manager Joel Hutton ahead of the big game.
“We’re all looking forward to the match,” Joel began. “The last two rounds have been incredibly tough, and we expect the final to be similar. We’ve played Swansea in the league and know a lot about them. Ian (Owen) always has his teams organised.
“Cardiff City Stadium is a fantastic venue to host the final – and we’re all very much looking forward to the day.”
The Bluebirds recently strengthened their ranks with the signing of Welsh international goalkeeper Claire Skinner.
“We’ve added Claire to the squad, which adds further depth. We’ve also had a number of players return from injury in the last few weeks too, which has boosted us further.
“It has given us a couple of selection headaches ahead of the cup final as everyone is training well. All the girls are fighting to be in the squad of sixteen.”
