The young Bluebirds progressed to the Quarter Finals of the FAW Youth Cup after defeating Briton Ferry Llansawel, 6-0 at The Vale Resort.
From the outset of the first half, Cardiff City dominated possession and they attacked in waves, hunting of the opening goal.
It did not take long for Craig Bellamy’s side to take the lead. With 11 minutes on the clock, Isaak Davies tapped home from James Waite’s wonderful through-ball to give Cardiff City the advantage.
City relentlessly searched for a second goal, and their hunger paid off after 19 minutes, when Mark Harris blasted home from six-yards to make it 2-0.
The Cardiff City and Wales forward Davies was dangerous throughout the half and he made sure to convert when another opportunity came his way just after the twenty-minute mark. Davies slotted home from inside the area to secure a brace.
The young Bluebirds were ruthless and they added another two minutes later via captain for the afternoon, James Waite. The Welsh youth international smashed the ball into the bottom right corner of the net from the inside left of the area, to make it 4-0.
It only got worse for the away side when City were awarded a penalty after 34 minutes as Sam Parsons was brought down by Jamie Burns inside the area. Our No.31 Harris stepped up and converted from the spot, smashing the ball into the top left corner.
After the interval the young Bluebirds continued to have the majority of possession, and they came close after 59 minutes when Davies’ shot cannoned off the left post and into the goalkeeper’s arms.
Into the final ten minutes and Boe pulled out another top save after acrobatically tipping Jack Bodenham’s strong header over the bar.
However, Bodenham was determined to get his name on the score sheet, and he did just that three minutes later. His powerful strike from the edge of the area, smashed the back of the net and it was the cherry on top for the young Bluebirds as the score-line stretched to 6-0.
This six-goal victory has setup a home Quarter Final clash with Aberystwyth Town for the young Bluebirds.
