Bluebirds fans win chance to play alongside heroes...
Cardiff City fans Craig Moulden and Connah Hughes will be living their own Bluebirds dream this Sunday, as the two men will represent supporters by playing in Kevin McNaughton’s benefit match at Cardiff City Stadium (3pm).
Craig and Connor were drawn at random, having purchased their ticket for the fixture via the Cardiff City ticket office. Tickets are still available, HERE
Craig, 32, is from Abercynon and says: “It’s surreal. I’m still struggling to comprehend what is going to happen.
“I’m a Bluebirds fan home and away and being invited to play in Kevin McNaughton’s game is a dream come true. It’s ten years since I played in a match, but I can’t wait to get out there.”
Craig is in Dublin for the Republic of Ireland v Wales World Cup qualifier and flies back to Cardiff on Saturday before joining the McNaughton testimonial teams at Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday.
Teenager Connor, from Porth in the Rhondda, is a former Newport County and Torquay United scholarship player who is now studying football coaching at the University of South Wales.
“I’m a Cardiff City fan and it feels overwhelming to even think about playing in the same match as Bellamy and the others,” he says. “It’s going to be something special.”
The ticket office at Cardiff City Stadium will be open on Sunday and standard tickets for McNaughton’s benefit match are £10 with concessions available. They can be purchased in advance HERE, in person at the stadium or by calling 0845 345 1400.
