“If we take the confidence from today’s game into next week then I’m sure there’ll be no problem,” says City’s summer signing…
Danny Ward spoke post-match after scoring twice in Cardiff City’s convincing pre-season victory against Scottish League One Champions, Livingston.
Speaking to iFollow Cardiff City, the 26 year-old told the assembled press & media how he has settled into life in the Welsh capital and outlined his ambitions for the upcoming season.
“With the team we’ve got, we’ve got to be pushing for top six at least. We’ve definitely got the squad to get us there, so we just need to get off to a good start next week and I’m sure we’ll get there.
“With the group of lads we’ve got here, we’ve gelled well over pre-season and I think we’ll do well.
"Everyone is working for each other and they’re a great bunch of lads so I think it’s realistic.
“We’ve been doing well, we’ve been passing it around really well in training and in the other games. If we can take these performances into the league matches then I’m sure we’ll do well this season.”
The former Rotherham United forward went on to discuss the potential link up with last season's top goal-scorer, Kenneth Zohore.
“I think it was something the manager was looking at (partnering Zohore up-front), and I could definitely feed off him.
"He’s a big, strong lad and I could make the runs in behind but as long as we’re scoring goals, that’s the main thing."
