Pre Season 2017 | Ralls: "It's about getting the minutes"

Midfielder Joe Ralls played forty-five minutes at Taff’s Well on Friday in a match where game time was imperative.

Speaking exclusively to cardiffcityfc.co.uk after the game, Ralls said: “It’s good to get back and it’s all about getting forty-five minutes under the belt right now. It’s also important for fitness and to get a good touch of the ball.

“We weren’t too focussed on our style of play. For us boys out there it was more about getting onto the football pitch and getting those minutes. Tactically we weren’t looking at it too much.”

With pre-season now well under way, Neil Warnock will take his side to Cornwall as the Bluebirds prepare for five fixtures in six days.

City face AFC Tavistock at Langsford Park to kick things off on Monday (7pm), taking in tests at Bodmin Town (Wednesday, 7pm) and Plymouth Argyle (Friday, 7pm). The U23s will face St. Austell (Thursday, 7:30pm) and Bideford (Saturday, 2pm).

And Ralls, now in his seventh professional season at the club, is looking forward to continuing his pre-season on the South Coast.

“Heading down to Cornwall for a few games should be good for the team,” he continued. “As a squad we’re all really looking forward to it.”
