Away Days - Travel Plan: Taff's Well

The following information has been made available for Cardiff City FC fans travelling to Taff’s Well’s Rhiwddar Stadium this Friday, 14th July (kick-off 7pm).

Rhiwddar Stadium

The Rhiwddar Stadium is located in Taff’s Well and has a capacity of 2,925. The stadium is located 6 miles from Cardiff city centre.

Getting to the Stadium

By taxi

There are plenty of taxis in Cardiff city centre and the cost of a one-way journey to the Rhiwddar Stadium is approximately £12 to £15.
By train

Taff’s Well station, located near Rhiwddar Stadium, has direct connections with Cardiff Central railway station – a 20 minute journey away. Trains also run directly to Taff’s Well from Pontypridd, Treherbert, Aberdare and Merthyr Tydfil train stations.

It will take 10 minutes to walk from Taff’s Well station to Rhiwddar Stadium. Stewards will line the route to offer directional guidance.

By Car

Travelling by car will take approximately 30 minutes from Cardiff city centre, dependent on traffic.

Rhiwddar Stadium can be reached by car by taking the Castell Coch/Tongwynlais exit from the A470 (first junction after the M4 motorway heading north).

At the roundabout, take the second exit and after 200 metres where the road splits take the right fork (A4054 Cardiff Road). Turn right at the traffic lights, pass Taff’s Well railway station (on left) and follow the road to the mini roundabout where you’ll fork left.

At the next mini roundabout, go straight ahead up the slope to the T junction. Turn right, continue down the slope and the entrance to the ground is on the right opposite Glan-y-Ffordd.

Parking at the stadium

There will be limited parking spaces available on the day of the game priced at £5. Fans will be able to pay for parking on arrival. You will not be able to purchase parking prior to the game.

It is a 2 minute walk from the car park to the Rhiwddar stadium. Due to the limited size of the stadium there are no parking facilities at the stadium.

Prohibited items

Whilst Rhiwddar Stadium welcomes all fans, please note that Standard ERFL Ground regulations will be applicable for this event.

As such:

•    Supporters will be subjected to random searches and all bags will be searched as a condition of entry.

•    The following items will not be allowed into the stadium: knives, fireworks, smoke canisters, air horns, flares, weapons, dangerous or hazardous items, laser devices, bottles, glass vessels, cans, poles, alcohol and drugs and any article that might be used as a weapon and/or compromise public safety. Any person seen or searched and found in possession of such items will be ejected/refused entry to the stadium and where applicable handed over to the police.

Facilities inside the stadium
Fans can purchase food, drink and match programmes from the various sales outlets located inside the stadium. There are toilets inside the stadium.

Disabled facilities

To ensure that all disabled fans enjoy their visit to the Rhiwddar Stadium, dedicated Disabled Liaison Stewards will be on duty. Disabled toilet facilities and food & drink outlets with low height serving counters will be available on the day.
