Warnock: "Delighted with the three points"
Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock spoke following the Bluebirds' sensational victory over Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon.
City saw off the Villans with a dominant performance in their first home league game of '17/18 at Cardiff City Stadium - a Nathaniel Mendez-Laing brace and Junior Hoilett’s goal sealing the win in front of a bumper crowd.
The Gaffer was in positive spirits after the match, but explained that the Bluebirds still have a marathon ahead of them, after starting their Sky Bet Championship campaign in style.
"The momentum is nice,” began Neil. “It’s good to get points in the early stages, instead of playing catch-up, but every game is a difficult game. That's two out of the way and forty-four to go!
"I'm delighted to get the three points and I know Steve [Bruce] will be disappointed. We possibly played them at the right time, because I’m sure Steve will turn them around.
"I thought we competed well and looked really sharp at times when we played one-touch. When they were dominating us, we hung in there, which is what you've got to do in this league.”
