DVP | FRIDAY AFTERNOON FOOTBALL AT CCS AS CITY BEGIN PL CUP CAMPAIGN VS SUNDERLAND

Cardiff City's development side will begin their Premier League Cup campaign against Sunderland on Friday, 30th September 2016 - 1pm at Cardiff City Stadium.

Kevin Nicholson's squad will face home and away fixtures against Sunderland, Burnley and Blackburn Rovers with five of these six group games now confirmed (U23 fixtures in full).

The Premier League Cup replaces the Under-21 Premier League Cup, which was introduced in 2013/14 to enhance the competitiveness of the Professional Development Phase calendar with knockout football alongside the regular league campaign. It will be contested between Under-23 teams, with each side allowed three over-age outfield players and a goalkeeper born before 1 January 1993. The top two teams in each group will advance to the knockout stage (round of 16).

Supporters are welcome to attend this U23 Cup match at Cardiff City Stadium free of charge, with all entrance through Gate 3 from 12:00pm.
