12th May
On July 1st, Lex Immers will officially become a permanent Cardiff City player, after agreeing a two year contract with the Bluebirds this week.
Having joined the Bluebirds on loan in January 2016, Lex has already established himself as a firm fan favourite with the Cardiff City Stadium faithful, making a huge impact in the Bluebirds’ front line.
So far, Lex has scored five Sky Bet Championship goals in the Bluebirds shirt. Scroll down to watch each of his City strikes, with Bluebirds Player.

1. HUDDERSFIELD TOWN 2-3 CARDIFF CITY
Having come off the bench for his first appearance at home to Rotherham United, Lex made his full Cardiff City début in our following game away to Huddersfield Town.
After some superb interplay between Fábio and Sammy Ameobi, Lex converted at the back post to seal his full début with a goal. Peter Whittingham also netted two either side of Immers’ strike as City won 3-2 at the John Smith’s Stadium.
2. CARDIFF CITY 4-1 BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION
Lex’s very next game was one of the Bluebirds’ finest moments of the Sky Bet Championship season, as City ran out comfortable winners over division high-flyers Brighton.
Immers scored the third for the Bluebirds inside the opening half hour, with Anthony Pilkington and another Whittingham brace resulting in a 4-1 score-line at CCS.
3. BRISTOL CITY 0-2 CARDIFF CITY
By this point, Lex was developing a knack of scoring at very important times. That was the case once again at Ashton Gate in early March, as he broke the deadlock in the Severnside Derby.
The Bluebirds maintained a continued spell of pressure on the Robins’ goal, recycling the ball several times, before Joe Ralls picked out Immers with a drilled pass. As always, Lex had positioned himself perfectly to slot home, before Stuart O’Keefe added a second after the break.
4. READING 1-1 CARDIFF CITY
So far, three Lex Immers goals had yielded three Cardiff City victories. The next was just as important though, as he sealed a point at the Madejski Stadium after City had fallen behind to Garath McCleary’s goal.
Immediately after coming off the bench, Sammy Ameobi jinked past several Royals defenders before letting fly. Then, when the ball cannoned back off the post, Immers was on hand to score his first headed goal for City…
5. FULHAM 2-1 CARDIFF CITY
Unfortunately, on this occasion Lex hit the back of the net in a City defeat, although he did open the scoring for the Bluebirds at Craven Cottage.
Scott Malone found the marauding Aron Gunnarsson, who dinked the ball in with the outside of his boot, for Lex to do the rest...
