Venue: John Smith’s Stadium
Date: 30th January 2016
THE OPPOSITION
City’s trip to the John Smith’s Stadium would have been rearranged had the Terriers got past Reading in their FA Cup Third Round replay. However, David Wagner's men bowed out of this year’s competition with a 5-2 defeat to fellow their Sky Bet Championship side, missing out on the chance to play Walsall in the Fourth Round.
TheTerriers have fared well in the League of late though, losing just one of their last six fixtures, including convincing recent victories over Preston North End, Bolton Wanderers and Charlton Athletic.
So far this January, Huddersfield have brought in Algeria international Karim Matmour and Boro loanee James Husband, whilst extending the contracts of Joe Murphy and Joe Lolley.
CLUB CONNECTIONS
City men Lee Peltier and Anthony Pilkington played alongside each other at Huddersfield between 2009 and 2011. While with the Terriers, both players made over one hundred League and Cup appearances, as they twice reached the League One play-offs, losing to Peterborough in the final in 2011.
Peltier, who will miss Saturday’s match due to his dismissal against Rotherham United, also returned to Huddersfield in 2014/15 to add a further twelve Terriers appearances to his tally.
Sean Morrison also enjoyed loan spells with Huddersfield from Reading, scoring his penalty in the Play-Off Final shoot-out against Sheffield United, as they booked their place in the Championship in 2010.
