RUSSELL | WE’RE AT THE BUSINESS END NOW

This morning, Russell Slade held a pre-match press conference at The Vale, to preview his side’s Saturday fixture against MK Dons.
The City boss stressed the importance of putting back-to-back wins together and, when asked whether deadline day signings Kenneth Zohore and Tom Lawrence would feature in the match, replied: “both will be considered, yes. We’ve got a few more options now, and it’s been nice to have that.
“It’s been welcome to see those two in training. I think that’s given us a good little lift at the right time.”
“Both of them bring two different things. Zohore is 6”3, very strong, has a little bit of pace, is left-footed and will play up against centre-halves, whereas Tom [Lawrence] is a number ten, his feet are good, his movement’s good, he’s very bright and I think he’ll score more goals in our team.
“Going into the last third of the season, stringing some consecutive wins tomorrow is very, very important. We’re getting to the business end now, and to go on a run would obviously benefit us all massively.
“It’s important to respect Karl Robinson’s men. They are proud to have been promoted to the Championship last season, and will be fighting for their lives, as they want to stay here next season.”
