WARNOCK | THE HOME FANS CAN LIFT US

"We’ve got two opportunities this week to get some points on board," says the City boss...

Following a hard-earned draw on the road against Ipswich on the weekend, the Bluebirds have a fine chance to build on that point with two home games on the bounce this week.

City face Wolves at Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday evening, before welcoming Barnsley to the capital on Saturday, and Neil Warnock is relishing the opportunity to rack up some home points.

Neil began by assessing City's performance last time out, calling for his men to back themselves to produce a similar showing at CCS.

“We created more in the last twenty minutes with ten men," said Neil. "The lads just need to have a bit more confidence in themselves. We’re quite solid now – I thought Connolly did really well and Peltier.

“I was pleased with Whittingham in there too. It’s just a matter of getting a goal or two and we’ll have to look at how we can do that."

The City manager is expecting to see two intriguing battles with Wolves and the Tykes, with the Bluebirds faithful on hand to cheer their men over the line.

“I think it will be a very interesting game," he continued. "We’ve got to look to win some home games now and we’ve got two opportunities this week to get some points on board. We’re going into it with confidence as we’ve had two good games really.

“I think the fans have been fantastic. They’ve got behind us, even in the second half last week when Brighton were on top. The fans can lift us though, we came back stronger in the end and Chris [Hughton] was happy with a point in the end.

“It’s an intimidating place if the crowd gets going – hopefully in the next two games they can lift the roof off again.

“All I know is that the lads are giving me everything... I think that’s why the fans are happy with them, because that’s all I can ask.”
