BENNETT: I ENJOY PLAYING FOR THE FANS

After becoming a Bluebird on Saturday, Joe Bennett spoke to Cardiff City Player HD, expressing his delight at sealing the move to South Wales. 

“It’s great to be here," Joe exclaimed. "Obviously the last couple of seasons I’ve been out on loan, and not had many chances at Villa, so I’m looking forward to the challenge. 

"Hopefully I’ll be playing week-in, week-out, doing my best, and helping the team. Hopefully we can do well this season.”

Left-back Bennett joined City on a three-year deal from Aston Villa, and is looking forward to getting involved with his new teammates. 

“I think the team will do well this season and are adding players as well," Joe continued. "I know Ben (Amos) who signed yesterday, and I know Pelts (Lee Peltier) as well, he gave me a message the other day. It’s good to have people you know at the club.”

And former England U21 Joe provided some insight into what the Bluebirds supporters can expect from him over the coming seasons. 

“I think the fans will see that I’m an attacking full back, I like to get forward," he stated. "I like to create chances and push up the pitch. I’ve been working on my defending in the last couple of years, that’s the main thing as a left back.”

“I’ve always had a good relationship with the fans, I’m sure it will be the same here if I can perform well and show them what I can do.

“I want to get the club to the Premier League, and I want to play in the Premier League. It’s a good move for me, and hopefully I can get started and do well.”
