Back in January of this year, Cardiff City Football Club welcomed some of Malaysia’s most promising young footballers to the Welsh Capital.
Having trained with the Bluebirds Academy squad at that time, we’re delighted to announce that two of those young men - Osman Yusoff and Sayzuan Hazani - are flourishing at first team level with Kedah State FC in the Malaysia Cup and President’s Cup, having graduated from the Kedah U21 side.
Tan Sri Vincent Tan, Cardiff City Chairman Mehmet Dalman, CEO Ken Choo and all of us at Cardiff City FC would like to congratulate Osman and Sayzuan – as well as Dato’ Sri Mukhriz Mahathir, Menteri Besar of the State of Kedah and President of the Kedah FA, for spearheading the initiative to bring the players to Cardiff earlier in 2015 and help further their football education.
Back in January, YB Aminuddin Omar (State Executive Councillor for Youth, Sports, Culture, Arts, Heritage & Non Government Organisations) and Anas Hafiz Mustaffa (Chief Special Officer to the Chief Minister of Kedah) met with Cardiff City FC CEO, Ken Choo and Club delegates.
Speaking in reference to the recent news, Tan Sri Vincent Tan said: “I’m delighted to see the progress that Kedah State’s young players are making. I wish them the very best of luck going forward.
“Malaysian footballers are always welcome at Cardiff City Football Club, where we will help them develop their skills and offer them the neccessary exposure to UK football."
Cardiff City CEO, Ken Choo, added: “Having spent time with Osman and Sayzuan earlier this year and watched them train with our Academy, I’m thrilled to see the quick and effective progress that they’ve made with Kedah State.
“Cardiff City FC is extremely proud of its links with Malaysia and Malaysian football, and Academy Manager James McCarthy and I would like to pass on our most sincere congratulations to Osman Yusoff and Sayzuan Hazani, Kedah State FC and everybody associated with the progression of these young players.
“We look forward to continuing to monitor their progress and hope that even bigger and better things await them in their burgeoning football careers.”
